How Facebook Is Controlling You

We see Facebook as a platform that connects us with others. Heck, this is not even limited to Facebook. But any social media out there promotes new ways for us to connect with each other.

As humans, our primary function is to connect with people and communicate. Although social media has given us this advantage to a drastic amount, the one negative aspect of it is its capability of changing our beliefs due to our curiosity.

From a simple click on one AD on Facebook to a simple click on a post/group. Your perception starts to shift. You may initially be thinking, how on earth can people believe this, but from being exposed to that environment you then become the very thing you disagreed upon.

When a user clicks on an AD, Facebook will then assume you enjoy this type of content and promote it to you more. It will notify you when recent events relating to that niche occur, to get you back into its ecosystem.

We all have become victims of this. I started from a simple naivety, believing I know more than a person from a specific group and was exposed consistently to that environment which made me shift my own point of view.

I am not saying any point of view on Facebook is immoral, but I am informing the extremism sides of them are bad for us. This will only allow us to see two types of…
